In the discourse around the urgent climate challenge, increasing attention is placed on the way of thinking and designing the cities, which are no longer conceived as simple “urban spaces”, but as ecosystems to be restored. This is the direction taken by the various actions taken following the adoption of the Green Deal, aimed at protecting and restoring the entire European natural space. This starts from the Biodiversity Strategy to the recent proposal of a Nature Restoration Law. Starting from the examination of these documents, up to the national level, the contribution will try to understand the role cities play in European climate governance.

Abstract
In the discourse around the urgent climate challenge, increasing attention is placed on the way of thinking and designing the cities, which are no longer conceived as simple “urban spaces”, but as ecosystems to be restored. This is the direction taken by the various actions taken following the adoption of the Green Deal, aimed at protecting and restoring the entire European natural space. This starts from the Biodiversity Strategy to the recent proposal of a Nature Restoration Law. Starting from the examination of these documents, up to the national level, the contribution will try to understand the role cities play in European climate governance.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
